The University of Florida is dedicated to preserving the health and wellness of our campus. Vaccine-preventable diseases do still exist and contracting these illnesses can have an adverse effect on a student’s health, well-being and ability to reach optimal academic performance. The most effective way to preserve and protect our campus from outbreaks of these infections is by establishing an immunization requirement. Therefore, University of Florida students shall be required to show documentation of specific vaccinations or proof of immunity as set forth in Florida statutes 1006.69, Florida Board of Governors Regulations Chapter 6 as well as recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (CDC).
The University of Florida requires that all new students, with the exception of some distance learners, show proof of certain immunizations prior to attending UF. This is applicable to all those who will be on main campus or gathering as part of a course requirement at a satellite campus or location. Please note that international students and those entering most academic health professions are required to complete tuberculosis screening that confirms they are free of tuberculosis.
Distance learning is a student group exemption. Participation in an online class does not automatically remove the immunization requirements. Check with your department regarding any student group exemption that may apply for your specific program. Non-degree seeking students are required to provide immunizations.
All vaccines are available at the UF Student Health Care Center (SHCC), and most health insurance is accepted.
Students can provide one of the records listed below:
Please note that our office will make final determination regarding whether alternative records can be used in lieu of the UF Mandatory Immunization Form.
Vaccine requirements vary by academic program. Please refer to your One.UF account for your program-specific requirements. Guidance and instructions are available on the UF Immunization Forms here.
Additional vaccines or screenings may be required after matriculation for
participation in clinical residency or rotations.
